$5000 Scholarship Opportunity for Tunxis Community College Students

Tunxis Community College is a partner with Central CT State University for scholarships funded through the National Science Foundation’s Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) program. Incoming freshman at Tunxis Community College in eligible programs (listed below) can receive a $5,000 scholarship that can be renewed for a total of two years at TXCC! In addition to the scholarship there will be networking and group activities with recipients from others colleges.

Incoming freshman in the following programs at TXCC are eligible for the Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics (CSMP) Scholarship Program of Central Connecticut:

  • Transfer Articulation Pathway (TAP) Mathematical Studies

  • Transfer Articulation Pathway (TAP) Computer Science Studies

  • Transfer Articulation Pathway (TAP) Physics Studies

  • AS degree in Computer Science/Mathematics (Honors program)

  • AS degree in Computer Information Systems, specialization in programming

  • AS degree in Computer Information Systems, specialization in networking

  • AS degree in Engineering Science

  • AS degree in Technology Studies in Engineering Technology

  • AS degree in Technology Studies in Technology & Engineering Education


  • Be a citizen of the United States, a national of the United States, an alien admitted as refugees, or an alien lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence;

  • Demonstrate financial need each semester, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid according to the rules of the US Department of Education;

  • Place into college-level Math and English courses;

  • Be enrolled full time in or accepted to one of CSMP academic programs (listed above)
