About the event
The National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing (NCNGM) needs your input to vote on and discuss what manufacturing students from two-year institutions should know about AI literacy. We will do this by voting on a specific pro forma set of AI literacy Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA), followed by discussion.
This session will take place virtually on September 24th, 2026, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EST.
The NCNGM finds it imperative to identify ways to integrate AI into manufacturing programs. We plan to start by identifying the essential elements of an AI literacy course or workshop that all manufacturing students should take. Then, we would like to discuss specific projects and competencies for each subdiscipline. It will be an insightful experience, since AI is emerging and changing rapidly across all areas of manufacturing.
