The National Science Foundation (NSF) funded National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing has promoted innovation and excellence in various scientific research and education fields. We recently had the pleasure of celebrating the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the CT State Tunxis Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to fostering a skilled workforce and promoting cutting-edge manufacturing practices. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took the time to visit our display and engage in meaningful and insightful conversations that contribute to the growth of our community and industry.

The event commenced with a warm welcome delivered by Darryl Reome, Ed.D., who set the tone for the day with his inspiring remarks. Following his address, we were honored to hear greetings and comments from several distinguished guests, including Governor Ned Lamont, who emphasized the importance of investing in advanced manufacturing education for the future of Connecticut's economy. Chancellor Terrence Cheng of the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities system also shared his insights on the critical role that educational institutions play in preparing students for careers in manufacturing. Dr. O. John Maduko, M.D., the President of Connecticut State Community College, highlighted the collaborative efforts among various educational bodies to ensure that our workforce is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. Additionally, we were privileged to hear from Marty Guay of Stanley Black & Decker, Inc., who discussed the vital partnership between industry and education, and Paul S. Lavoie, the State of Connecticut Chief Manufacturing Officer, who provided a compelling vision for the future of manufacturing in our state.
The ceremony featured representatives from the Town of Farmington, Connecticut, the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce, CSCU, and various officials from CT State Community College, all of whom played an essential role in making this event a success. We also sincerely thank partners and sponsors of CT State Community College, including PMA Southern New England, ACM Aerospace Components Manufacturers, Inc., and NESMA - New England Spring & Metalstamping Association, for their generous contributions and unwavering support. Their involvement underscores the collaborative spirit necessary for advancing manufacturing education and innovation.

As we reflect on the day's events, we are reminded of the saying, "It takes a village," which resonates profoundly within the context of our mission. Today, we demonstrated our unwavering passion for manufacturing education in Connecticut, showcasing our commitment to nurturing talent, driving technological advancements, and fostering an environment where the next generation of manufacturing leaders can thrive. Together, we are paving the way for a prosperous future, one that is built on collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for excellence in manufacturing.
