National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing (NCNGM) aims to raise awareness of the manufacturing sector and support the next generation of technicians. Through the National Science Foundation’s Advanced Technological Education (NSF ATE) program, NCNGM has funded collaborations among students, two-year colleges, other higher education institutions, industry, and organizations to improve technician training in advanced manufacturing. The NCNGM maintains a resource repository on this website and offers nationwide virtual and in-person programming on relevant technical and professional skill sets. NCNGM is a proud sponsor of the inaugural Women in Manufacturing (WiM) EAST Conference. This one-day forum aims to attract attendees across the United States, particularly in New England and the East Coast. Hosted in the capital city of Connecticut, downtown Hartford offers a central location to bring together professionals, industry leaders, and advocates to celebrate and empower women in the manufacturing sector. The Women in Manufacturing EAST Conference provides an essential opportunity for open dialogue and idea exchange on the latest advancements in manufacturing technology. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, workforce development, and best practices to advance the industry. The conference seeks to highlight the achievements of women in New England manufacturing, showcase their contributions, and inspire future leaders in the field. The NCNGM is dedicated to advocating for women technicians and professionals in manufacturing and recognizes the significant value women bring to the workforce, including innovative ideas and problem-solving skills.

A major feature of the conference is its focus on networking and collaboration. Participants will have plenty of opportunities to connect with peers, industry experts, and thought leaders. These interactions are crucial for professional growth and help build a sense of community and support in the manufacturing sector. By establishing strong networks, attendees can share resources, mentorship, and encouragement, which are vital for navigating industry challenges and opportunities. A highlight of the event will be the presence of Meaghan Ziemba, Founder and Owner of Z-Ink Solutions and host of Mavens of Manufacturing. With her and other organizations' dedication, Women in Manufacturing EAST promises to be a rewarding and productive event!
