The National Science Foundation (NSF) funded National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing is a proud partner of EdAdvance and a sponsor of the Skills21 ChatEDU podcast, which aims to explore and discuss the evolving landscape of education in the context of rapidly advancing technologies. This collaboration underscores our commitment to enhancing educational practices and promoting innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

Recently, we were delighted to attend their 4th Spring AI in Education Conference, hosted at their headquarters. This event brought together a diverse group of educators, K-12 and beyond, alongside sponsor Kiddom. The conference proved to be an insightful day filled with rich dialogue and discussions regarding the transformative impact of artificial intelligence in the classroom. Participants engaged in meaningful conversations about how students can gain essential AI literacy, which is increasingly becoming crucial for their future workplace and career paths. The event attracted many educators from all over Connecticut, who came together not only to learn more about AI but also to share their expertise, experiences, and best practices regarding integrating Artificial Intelligence in educational settings.

A particularly engaging aspect of the conference was the student panel, which gave educators in attendance a unique glimpse into how the next generation of students currently interacts with AI technologies within their schools. The students candidly shared their perspectives on the tools they use, their challenges, and their aspirations for how AI could shape their educational experiences in the future. Their insights highlighted the importance of incorporating student voices in discussions about the future of AI in education, as they are the ones who will ultimately experience the effects of these technologies firsthand.

Overall, the conference was not just an event; it was an excellent opportunity to foster existing partnerships, cultivate new relationships, and reinforce our commitment to providing educators with access to the resources and support our center has to offer. By bringing together thought leaders, educators, and students, we aim to create a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and helps pave the way for a more effective and engaging educational landscape that embraces AI's potential while addressing its challenges.
