The National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing is excited to announce a partnership with Central Community College in Columbus, Nebraska. Together, we will offer Professional Development opportunities for high school educators during the summer of 2026. If you are interested in attending, please complete the attached form and return it as soon as possible, as class size is limited.
Program Overview
Classes must be taken in sequence. Our goal is to foster collaboration between the local community college and high schools to provide dual credit programs. In Nebraska, the community college will supply the instructor of record for college credit. Meanwhile, the facilitator will assist students and maintain classroom management. Your school may utilize these trainers differently than we do. Below are the details regarding each session and what you will receive.
Course Schedule
Classes must be taken in this sequence:
First Course: Concepts of Electronics
Dates: Tuesday, June 9, through Friday, June 12
Stipend: $1,800 for travel costs and time
Trainer Value: $550
Includes: Course materials
Second Course: Intro to Instrumentation
Dates: Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18
Stipend: $1,800 for travel costs and time
Trainer Value: $1,300
Includes: Course materials
Third Course: Intro to PLCs
Dates: Tuesday, June 23, through Friday, June 26
Stipend: $1,800 for travel costs and time
Trainer Value: $1,750
Includes: Course materials
Fourth Course: Application of Industrial Sensors
Dates: Monday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 1
Stipend: $1,500 for travel costs
Trainer Value: $1,950
