The National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing had a great time celebrating Community Colleges for International Development’s (CCID) 50th Annual Conference this weekend! During the Poster Session, we shared insights from our program last summer in France for Connecticut State Community College's students and faculty, which was funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

We also had the opportunity to learn about how various community colleges nationwide strategically develop and implement their international initiatives. This was facilitated through a series of insightful presentations and engaging conversations with representatives from different institutions. The luncheon panel specifically emphasized the critical importance of fostering strong partnerships between the educational sector and industry. These collaborations are essential for ensuring that students are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the practical skills necessary for career readiness, particularly in the rapidly evolving field of advanced manufacturing. The discussions highlighted how these partnerships can lead to innovative programs that bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Finally, CCID announced they will be updating their name to Community and Technical Colleges for International Development! Stay tuned for more updates from them and information on the CCID Annual Conference 2027 in Washington, DC, at the Omni Shoreham!
